12/18/08 Hello
All, Wishing you every happiness this Holiday Season and prosperity in the New Year. Thank
you for the love and support you've given The Shireys this year. You will never know how much you mean to us.
Without you, it would be pretty hard to travel around and continue this ministry. You are a major part of this ministry
and every seed you sow into it, goes toward winning another lost soul. If we could, we would load you all up on the
bus and take you with us! To update you a little bit, we've had some awesome things going for us and have some even
more awesome things coming up in the new year! God is really expanding our territory, and we can't wait to see what
He has in store for us! There are some major things in the making right now that I promise I will tell you about very
soon! I'll be going into the studio to start on a new solo project in two weeks, up in Nashville. I
am very excited! I will keep you updated and let you know the release date as soon as I find out. My good
friends, Joseph Habedank and Jacob Crisp will be helping me out on this album. I can't wait for you to hear it!
What am I talking about?? I can't wait to hear it! Haha! Don't forget about The Shireys 2nd Annual
Christmas Banquet tomorrow night in Columbia, SC at our home church, Elmwood Avenue Church of God. Tickets are $12 for
adults and children 10 & under are $5. The dinner starts at 6:00pm, and the concert will start at 7:00pm.
We have a couple of special guests that will be with us. So, trust me, you DON'T want to miss this! We look
forward to continuing our relationship with you in the coming year. Have a very Merry Christmas, and don't
forget the true meaning of Christmas. Presents and family visits are great, but Jesus is the reason for the season!
Keep the Christ in Christmas! We love you! May God bless you in this holiday season, Victoria Shirey The Shireys -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10/22/08 Can you believe it is already fall?! It's my favorite time
of the year. We were in Asheville, Nc last weekend, and the mountains with the fall colors were beautiful! Look
around you, and it's easy to see God's hand everywhere. We are so blessed. So far this has been an awesome
and very busy year. Looks like next year (if the Lord tarries) is going to be even greater! We can't wait
to see what God is going to do. Next year will be a time for change. God is doing a new thing in our lives, and
we are ready! We are featured in the Christian Voic Magazine for the month of November with an interview given by Tammy
Kirkland. Victoria's song, "Have Faith", is climbing the charts. People's lives are being changed
across the nation as the song is being played across radio stations everywhere. We give God the glory, for He deserves
it all. We are only vessels being used by Him. Our prayer is, "Lord, help us as a ministry to be obedient
to your call". We want God's will in our lives, and we want to reach the lost across this nation through song
and testimony. we have been in some awesome, anointed services lately, and God is doing mighty things. Now is
the time for complete surrender to His will. I trust that you have been touched or your life has been changed through
this ministry. If so, plese write and let us know. Victoria is going to add a page on the website for testimonies
of people who have been touched by this ministry. We have already received many. Don't forget to join us at
WBPI-TV for uor LIVE "Gaither style" Christmas Extravaganza on December 5th, where you will hear some anointed music
and be reminded that Christ was born and died for you. Best news of all, He is definitely coming back to claim his own.
If you do not have our new CD yet, "The Missing Piece", you are missing out on some anointed songs that will uplift
and encourage you. Order it today online. Also, the lyrics to songs from the CD's, "Don't Look Back"
and "One Of These Days" are now available on our website. Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. give
thanks in all things. God loves you, and so do we. I hope we see you at our next service! Tell a friend
what God has done for you. Hold on! Don't give up! The best is yet to come! We love you.
Please keep us in your prayers. Have faith! Until next time, Darlene & The Shireys ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 7/28/08 Wow! God has been blessing in every service we have been priveledged to be a part of. By now, you already know that we have changed our name from Unity to our family name, The Shireys. The transition is taking some getting used to, even for us, but people are beginning to accept the change. God has moved in a great way for our group since writing to you last. We have just come out of the studio finishing the vocals on our new project. We have seven more original songs written by Victoria on this recording. Rachael has written her first song which is also on this project along with one of Darlene's songs that we re-recorded. I feel that you will be blessed. It should be out in September by NQC. We can't wait! The Jamil Temple concert is over now, but the whole day was exciting. We had the Talent Competition at 12:00pm. There were great soloists and groups. The 1st place solo winner was Tommy Graham from Bowman, SC and 2nd place went to Kevin Carter from Fayetteville, NC. The 1st place group winner was Blood Bought from Lenoir, NC and coming in 2nd was Upward Bound from Columbia, SC. Everyone did a great job and was a winner in God's eyes. The afternoon showcase started at 2:00pm and lasted through 5:30pm. We had some awesome talent minister throughout the afternoon, and we were blessed. The Providence Quartet from Pendleton, NC was chosen to sing on Main Stage in the evening concert with The Shireys, The Sharpes, The Palmetto State Quartet, and The Gospel Enforcers. We had church! What an awesome day in the Lord! Thanks to everyone who participated and for all of my staff volunteers, especially Dora Ann & Clay Smith and Margie Stack. They worked vigorously all day to keep things running smoothly. Victoria did an incredible job running sound for everyone who performed in he Talent Show and Showcase. Thank God for a terrific, blessed day. Also, last but not least, a special thanks to our judges, Richard Chambers, radio DJ for WGUS 102.7 in Augusta, GA and Rick Busbee, former tenor singer with Florida Boys, now minister of music in a church in Augusta, GA. You guys did great! Moving on, we have some wonderful services coming up, then we are off to San Antonio, TX Sunday where Victoria and Rachael will compete in the Church of God National competition, representing South Carolina. Victoria will be competing in the female vocal solo division, and Rachael and Victoria will be competing in the small vocal ensemble division. Please pray for our safety as we travel. Then we are off to Florida and Tennessee. Next stop is Maryland and Kentucky, then comes the National Quartet Convention. Looks like we have a lot of miles ahead of us. Praise the Lord! We love it! We hope to see you at some of our upcoming services! Check our schedule periodically for a place near you. We love you. May God bless you. Pray for our family. To God be the glory, ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3/5/08 My how time has passed! We've been so busy that I have not had time
to let you know what's going on wih our group. First of all, we have been in some awesome services. People have been saved,
healed, delivered, encouraged, and praise God, that's what it's all about! We are excited to have signed with Paradigm
Music Group with Calvin Gann and Tammy Kirkland! God has led us in this direction, and we know that He has a hand in it. In
April, we will be changing our name to The Shireys, which is our family name. This is something we feel led by God to do to
forward the ministry. It will take some getting used to, even for us. Until Next Time, ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1/3/08 HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Can you believe it is 2008 already? This is definitely a year that is going to be great. We have been in some awesome services this past year of 2007. God has blessed us tremendously. We have met many new friends and shared the stage with artists such as, The Stamps Quartet, Kirk Talley, Dixie Melody Boys, The Melodyaires, The Freemans, The Kirklands, Tony Gore, Cathy Perry, The Reggie Saddler Family, Cricket Lee, The Galloways, and several more. What a year it has been. Souls have been saved, people have been delivered, and many have been healed and encouraged. A special thank you to those who shared our TV Christmas Spectacular show in December. It was an awesome night. A very special thank you to Jacob Crisp, who played the piano for us that night and also at our Unity Christmas banquet. Also, Matthew Cutter, who did a dynamic job singing at both events. Upward Bound did a wonderful job at our Christmas banquet as well. We had a wonderful time on our cruise with The Anchormen and Mercy's Well. A great big thank you to both of these groups for allowing us to share the stage with them on the cruise. Wow! We hope we can do it again this year.
